I liked the architecture of the hotel and the history.
I was horrified that the hot water system was not working and neither was the heater in the room. Although provision was made for taking a shower in the only room with instant gas-heated water and a small heater was brought to the room, it was poor management to have both systems down and not give clients a reduced rate. I would have left if we had been staying more than one night. We were hiking and needed hot water in our rooms and a heated room.
We went for a wedding reception - the hotel facilities were excellent for the reception, the grounds of the hotel were lovely and the food was delicious but most of all the staff were great! Very friendly and obliging and made everyone feel at home.
The hotel itself is a lovely mansion and is located in a peaceful and tranquil setting
We didnt receive clean towels on the 2nd day but everything else was great
We love the nature and some kind animals this hotel. It's was wonderful. And bar's man (name's Paul, may be), he was very nice, we could enjoy to be there. Thank you.
The setting of the hotel is beautiful. Standing majestically, it rises from within the trees as you approach on the grand driveway. Homely, yet luxurious, the beds are incredibly comfortable and the rooms are the perfect blend of elegance and comfort. The staff were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect for exploring the Cotswolds and outlying areas. Such a pleasure to return to in the evening. One of the best hotels, for the money, I have stayed in. Simply beautiful.
That I had to leave after just three days!
Great atmosphere inside and out, big enough to have good facilities, small enough to feel almost like a private residence. Very good breakfast for a 3* hotel at that price, good value for money. Bathroom modern and functional
service hours for food in the bar too limited (ends 9 pm)
It was an excellent place to relax and enjoy the old world charm of the building and its surroundings. We had a fabulous four poster suite with double aspect views across the grounds and the pond. The staff were first class as was breakfast in the excellent dining room. Enjoy a drink or two in the lounge or library bar,a great finish to the day.
Building had loads of character (almost like Harry Potter film set). Staff excellent, breakfast very good. We were given a special offer to return before March 2013 which we wil certainly take up.
Lift very slow
Lovely relaxing atmosphere Ideal for Getting away from it all Beautiful grounds and woodlands brimming with wildlife. The lake is lovely with a good collection of water birds. The black swans are fascinating, friendly, chatty and beautiful! It was great to sit in front of a roaring fire too. I would recommend this charming hotel to anyone who loves the countryside and simplicity.
dumbleton hall hotel is one of best hotels i use
The beautiful location, lovely views from room The slightly faded but up-together oldy-worldy ambience of the communal spaces, log fires etc The breakfasts were excellent
There was a gap in the evening meals on offer: the three-course meal could be too much (but looked excellent). The only alternative was the rather sparse light meal bar menu.
Lovely location, friendly staff, comfortable room, log fire, just had bar snack menu but food was nice & reasonably priced, excellant breakfast (cooked fresh!) and fantastic value for money!! We will be going back!
Husband thought there was a slight lack of choice of ales at the bar (but just him being picky!)
location and built of the castle and history. Intersting
We were not informed about the function and we stay on the part of the hotel room that the sound of the music lasted@12midnight. But the following day we were move to a small different room away from the loud music because there is another wedding function
we wanted to stay in Evesahm area and be able to take family dog. The location and grounds were terrific
Everything! its history, location, the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff. Our room was large comfortable and spotless. The meals, both breakfast and dinner were excellent and it was quite reasonable in price for its quality
